I want to talk about the cars which formed my taste. Apparently most of those cars are from middle of 2000s. And MB C-class W204 presented in 2007 is one of them.

The design is simple and severe. It is I’d say very premium, business style with sharp edges and explicitly aiming towards senior generation. You won’t find any fun colors in its’ pallette. You could choose between silver, white, black, dark blue, brown and the most bright is red.

The original setup is RWD which is a standard for Mercedes, but some versions sport 4WD with the branded 4Matic system. But if you look at the car, its’ RWD nature is not shown anyhow. The exterior is very neutral and doesn’t say anything except your belonging to an affluent society. There are no allusions to a sportiness unless you go for AMG version which has modified body kit and traditionally huge and powerful AMG engine.

But what I especially like in this car is how harmonically it looks. There are no parts I want to add, change or remove. It is good as it is. And what more appreciated is that exterior fully conforms the technical part. It neither tries to be more powerful than it looks nor to be more aggressive than it can. The perfect balance — this is how I can characterize this car.

Moreover Mersedes-Benz C-class W204 represents the values important for its’ customers: safety, efficiency, confidence. Previously I though the BlueEfficiency is the liquid that is added to the fuel to decrease harmful emissions. But Wikipedia came in handy to teach me.

So BlueEfficiency is a complex solution that includes: new windscreen, optimization of soundproofing material, lightweight wheels, low rolling resistance tyres, body modifications, joint sealing between fenders and lamps, new aerodynamic mirrors and other stuff which helped to decrease the drag to 0,25 resulting in 12% of fuel economy. Impressive yeah?

From disadvantages I can only mention the low quality interior for pre-facelift models. It definitely didn’t feel like a Mercedes-Benz.

But with the facelift C-class got interior from CLS-class which drastically change the perception of the whole car. Unfortunately they changed the front lights shape as well. I likes the previous ones much more.

What is also worth mentioning that W204 looks good in both variants: sedan and wagon (not talking about coupe cause it’s looking good always).

This body has more family look, but still keeps its’ premium feeling and design chastity. So you can easily pick up your business partners right after weekly shop in the nearest supermarket.

All in all I really like this car even though it doesn’t fit my personality. I like to admire the sharp edges of the body, calm and confident lines along the chassis and how Mercedes C-class stands on the road.
